You’re Invited

I don’t know what I was thinking of when I sent out old-fashioned, tree-killing paper invitations to my older two sons’ bar mitzvahs in 2007 and 2009.

It’s the 21st century, for crying out loud. We have email. We have evites.

It’s 2010 and we have YouTube, as a creative Israel bar mitzvah boy named Eyal has reminded us.

I might just follow Eyal’s lead when it’s time to send out the invites to my youngest son’s bar mitzvah. But that will be in 2014 and by then, YouTube will undoubtedly be so yesterday.

Anyone out there venturing to guess what the bar mitzvah invitation trend will be 4 years from now? I imagine it will be something like telepathic delivery.

I think this is hysterical! Sorry we were sooooo old fashioned with ours.

Yours were beautiful and so unique. I meant to tell you earlier, but didn’t get around to it.

This Grandma is unashamedly grateful for “snail mail ” invitations, especially from grandchildren. Recently, the world is discovering that certain “old-fashioned” habits are nice and deliver warmth.
