The Israeli supermodel and actress shocked fans Saturday by posting on Instagram a photo of herself with blood smeared all over her face. The selfie was taken as she underwent a beauty treatment known as a vampire facial.
We first heard of this gruesome procedure when Kim Kardashian tweeted a photo of her blood-spattered face last March. The New York Daily Newsreported that the $1,500 procedure, trademarked as “The Vampire Facelift” by Alabama doctor Charles Runel, involves drawing the patient’s own blood from her arm, and separating it into platelet-rich plasma using a centrifuge. The plasma is combined with Restylane or Juvederm, and injected into the patient’s face to stimulate collagen production. This supposedly creates new skin and removes fine lines and acne scars.
